River Cities Harvest thanks all of our hard working volunteers!

River Cities Harvest recruits volunteers to pick up food at area restaurants and grocery stores and deliver it to local agencies that feed low-income and homeless families and individuals. The average time commitment for a weekly pickup is less than one hour.  Most of our openings are for regular, weekly commitments – the volunteer would pick up at the same location and deliver the food to the same agency every week. The volunteer provides their own transportation.  We also need volunteers to help with special projects: collecting and distributing canned goods, produce, and other items that are donated. The dates and times of those vary.

In Office Volunteer Opportunities

• Help RCH staff weigh and sort in-coming donations; help staff contact social service agencies in need of donations and schedule pick-up times for distribution.

• Help the RCH staff maintain and update contact information for community mailing lists.

• Help the RCH staff plan and organize community food drives and fundraisers.

• Support RCH staff with basic in-office clerical work.

• Work with RCH staff and receive training to identify and research non-profit grant oportunities.

If you wish to volunteer, River Cities Harvest wants you! Please contact us.
