River Cities Harvest is a non-profit, volunteer-based
agency whose mission is to alleviate hunger in our area. RCH solicits
surplus, perishable food from restaurants, supermarkets, and other sources
and distributes it to 25 social service agencies that feed hungry
individuals and families. This practice is known as "food recovery". RCH
serves Boyd and Greenup counties in Kentucky and Lawrence County in Ohio.

From May 14 through May 28, 2012 - You can bring your non-perishible
foods to collection barrels to any of the following locations:
- River Cities Harvest, 2516 Carter Ave, Ashland.
- All local Kentucky Farmers Banks
- Kroger stores in Ashland and Russell
- Foodfair Stores in South Ashland, Flatwoods, and Greenup County
- Batram's Food Fair in Ironton
- All local Community Trust Banks
- City National Bank in Ironton
- Greenup County Public Library
- The medical offices of Dr. Michael J. Goodwin
- Soccer Locker Team Sports (8142 U.S. Rt. 60)
- and First and Peoples Bank
Food drive benefits many local organizations! This includes: Ashland Community Kitchen, Helping Hands of Greenup,
Safe Harbor, Salvation Army, Ironton City Welfare Mission, Hillcrest-Bruce Mission, Ashland and Boyd County
Senior Centers, Shelter of Hope, CAReS, Greenup Meals on Wheels, Ashland Child Development Center, Ashland Group
Home, and the food pantries of Cannonsburg Trinity UMC, Our Brother's Keeper, First United Methodist Church,
Westwood Christian Church, Central Cristian Church, Advance Memorial UMC, Oakland Ave. Baptist Chruch, and
